OTI Senior Policy Analyst Sydney Saubestre was quoted in POLITICO's Morning Tech newsletter's coverage of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and its possible trajectory. Saubestre specifically comments on Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chair Andrew Ferguson's aims to update the legislation to protect more kids online.

Observers expect Ferguson to push COPPA rules to be more compatible with age verification technology.
“I do know that he likes age verification, so I would be surprised if he weren’t trying to move the FTC toward age verification,” Sydney Saubestre, a senior policy analyst at New America’s Open Technology Institute, told MT.
