Anjuna Ohlke is a Program Associate for the Planetary Politics program at New America. Ohlke is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland, where she earned a B.A. in Public Policy. Originally starting at New America as an intern in June 2024, she now serves as the Program Associate for the Planetary Politics Initiative. She supports the strategic execution of events and publications, manages communications with a range of internal and external stakeholders, and contributes to the continued growth and impact of the program’s mission.
Although her academic foundation was rooted in education policy, Ohlke developed a strong intellectual interest in U.S. grand strategy, culminating in a senior thesis on the erosion of American unipolarity and its resulting geopolitical risks and opportunities. During her time with Planetary Politics, she has further cultivated a passion for emerging technology and AI governance. At Planetary Politics, she supports work at the intersection of global governance, climate policy, and technological transformation—most recently focusing on the implications of AI for international cooperation and state sovereignty. She is eager to help shape thoughtful and forward-looking policy discourse on these issues, both domestically and on the international stage.
