Christine Patterson

Financial Analysis & Grants Manager

Christine Patterson is New America’s financial analysis & grants manager. Prior to joining New America, Patterson worked for two and a half years at World Relief, an international aid and development agency operating in 13 U.S. states and 14 countries around the world. During her time at World Relief, Patterson served as the financial analyst, reporting & insights where she worked with WR’s team in Nicaragua to bring to a close an over 9-year project of automating their interfund transfer process which gives greater and more effective visibility to the restricted and unrestricted funds, automating the monthly financial package, and helped launch and develop a customized ERP system. Additionally, Patterson has worked in several industries to include consulting, public, and quasi-government where she was the youngest chief financial officer/interim co-executive director for the Revenue Authority of Prince George’s County, Md.

In addition to Patterson’s 22-year skill set of accounting and finance, accounting information systems, and human resources, she has a dual master’s degree in finance and human resources, and is working towards her project management professional (PMP) certification.

Patterson’s native roots are in West Virginia, but she has lived in the D.C. metropolitan area for approximately 23 years, and all over the world from Guam to most of the United States coming from a strong military family; her father was a military police officer in the Air Force, one of her uncles served in the Marine Corps and implemented the first automated payroll system, and another uncle was the first black graduate from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and the first black to serve in the Navy with those credentials, and a slew of cousins that still serve in every branch of the armed forces today.
