Hala Kourtu is a recent graduate of the Harris School of Public Policy, and 2020 alum of the college. During her time at Harris, Hala served on the executive board of the Campus’s primary Black student-led organization, BAPPS, and was heavily involved in the University’s online policy journal. During this time, she also served as a graduate intern at New America, where she assisted the Chicago team with research aimed at addressing wealth disparities, particularly in communities of color.
