Joyce Hwang was a senior program associate with the Center on Education & Labor at New America. In this role, she supported the Education Policy program's new initiative, the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeships (PAYA). Prior to New America, she was an intern with the U.S. Senate HELP Committee in the education office and an intern with the Data Quality Campaign. She holds a BS in child development and Spanish from Vanderbilt University, where she supported research surrounding the educational experiences of bilingual elementary school students, as well as children's math learning.
