Kathy L. Brown was a Program Associate who helps keep the administrative side of New America Chicago and Civic Space running smoothly.
After beginning her career as a freelance Field Reporter with NBC, she later worked at WGN-TV and co-produced youth motivational campaigns.
She served on the Local Organizing Committee for the Million Women March and has worked for over 10 years with the Board of Elections on voter registration drives around Cook County registering new voters, which allows their voices to be heard regarding representation and new policies in an ever-changing world.
Most recently, as an certified Ambassador with the Illinois Department of Public Health, Brown's efforts were instrumental in providing information and resources to the local community during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Brown is a graduate of Columbia College with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
