Marsella Garcia Prieto

Marsella Garcia Prieto is social component leader in Build Change’s Colombia office. Garcia Prieto is a political scientist, with a degree from Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia and a Master’s in Political Management, specializing in public policy design, from Universidad Católica de Córdoba, Argentina.

She embarked on her professional journey at the District Secretariat of Social Integration in Bogotá and has since been deeply engaged in public service within the Bogotá district. In 2016, Garcia Prieto joined Caja de Vivienda Popular, delving into housing issues from a social perspective for the first time. It was here that she began to explore the intricate dynamics of housing and its impact on communities.

Driven by a desire to deepen her expertise, Garcia Prieto pursued a specialization in urban and regional economics two years ago, further enhancing her knowledge in the field. During her tenure at Caja de Vivienda Popular, Garcia Prieto’s passion for social impact and community development led her to apply for a position at Build Change, where she has taken a lead role working with communities in our projects in Urabá and engaging with national government to integrate community processes into national housing programs.
