Megan Baumhammer

Megan Baumhammer is a Social Impact Fellow at New America, working with the Center for Education & Labor. She researches efforts to assist and incentivize adult learners to return to community colleges in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her research interests include education access for historically underserved, low-income, and racially minoritized student populations, issues of culture and diversity, and pedagogical design. 

In addition to her work at New America, Megan is a founding member of the Virtual History of Science, Technology, and Medicine (HistSTM) Community, an international, interdisciplinary group of students, scholars, academics and people interested in the history of science and knowledge. She teaches with the Freshman Scholars Institute at Princeton, a bridge program designed primarily for first-generation and low-income students. Megan is pursuing a PhD at Princeton University.
