Michael C. George was founding Chief of Staff at Opportunity@Work in 2015. He is interested in how policy can be used to improve social mobility and reduce inequality. Prior to Opportunity@Work, he worked as a research assistant for Professors Raj Chetty and Nathaniel Hendren at the Harvard Department of Economics, at the White House National Economic Council, where he worked on anti-poverty policy, education, and labor standards, and at Social Finance and Instiglio, where he developed results-based financing initiatives to improve program delivery.
Michael studied Government and Economics at Harvard University, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He received his Master's degrees from the London School of Economics and University of Oxford as a Marshall Scholar.
