Minerva Tantoco has a long track record in AI, tech, and finance, including an AI startup in Silicon Valley, a Senior Product Manager at Palm, CTO at Merrill Lynch and UBS, and holds four US patents on intelligent workflow. Appointed in 2014 as New York City’s first-ever Chief Technology Officer, Tantoco led the Mayor’s Office of Tech and Innovation and groundbreaking initiatives in smart city tech. After City Hall, Tantoco co-founded Grasshopper Bank. raised $131M in seed and capital funds, building a digital bank from scratch. Most recently Tantoco helped launch the AI Hub at NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research as Chief AI Officer.

Tantoco is currently serving as Interim CEO, the New York Hall of Science (formerly Co-Chair of the Board), as a Board Member and Advisor to Vyv, Box Media, and Socure, ambassador to the City of London, consultant, and speaker on artificial intelligence, regulatory tech, and fintech. Tantoco has recently been recognized by Constellation Enterprise's Business Transformation 150, and City & State's Queens Power 100.
