Since its inception, New America’s Open Technology Institute has been a stalwart promoter of universal access to technology. The program has spent the past 15 years conducting deep research and tireless advocacy for tech policy that protects people and fosters an open and secure internet. From outlining the dangers of surveillance to protecting tech-users from violations of privacy, the heart of OTI’s work has always centered the public interest. As we look to the next 15 years, OTI will focus on building the future internet we need and will continue work to ensure that every community has equitable access to digital technology and its benefits.
