Azubike Kalu-Nwiwu II was the TechHire community engagement manager with Opportunity@Work.
Kalu-Nwiwu came to Opportunity@Work equipped with a passion in enhancing upward mobility through gainful employment, and with expertise in user engagement and mobilization through education, online tools, and events.
Prior to Opportunity@Work, Kalu-Nwiwu worked as a project specialist at Service Employees International Union, where he implemented the educational component of SEIU RISE, a program that fosters the development of a robust network of member leaders age 18-35 across the union. His last project with SEIU RISE was a Millennial Leadership Conference, which brought together young union members and staff from across the country to learn from each other of effective methods in organizing young members around issues relevant to their co-workers and community.
Kalu-Nwiwu is a graduate of Stony Brook University, with a bachelor of arts in political science and a master of arts in public policy.
Kalu-Nwiwu is driven by the increasing role of technology in democratizing access to opportunity, and is motivated by the new ideas, perspectives, and experiences he encounters on a daily basis.
