Nick McClellan

Web Production Manager

As web production manager of NewAmerica.net, Nick McClellan focuses on New America's new media efforts and web publishing operations. Before joining the Communications team, Mr. McClellan was a web designer for Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc., in Columbia, Mo. Mr. McClellan also worked as a copy editor at the Visalia Times-Delta, in Visalia, Calif., and later as the newspaper's first multimedia reporter. In 2009, Mr. McClellan was awarded a Knight-Carnegie News21 fellowship, which paired him with fellows at the University of Maryland covering issues stemming from the participation of new Latino voters in the 2008 election. In the spring of 2010, Mr. McClellan interned with the Center for American Progress, writing and contributing to the Think Progress blog and daily Progress Report e-mail.

Mr. McClellan received a Master of Arts in Journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism. His thesis examined the potential impact liberal and conservative blogs have on the issues discussed by members of Congress. Mr. McClellan received a BA in Journalism and in English from the University of Georgia.
